The American Language Center of Florence-Istituto Americano di Firenze - is an Official SAT Testing Center
The American Language Center – Istituto Americano di Firenze - is happy to announce our selection by the CollegeBoard to be an SAT testing center. The American Language Center of Florence thus joins a selected number of schools entrusted by the College Board to administer the SAT I Test and SAT II to students. A good score on the SAT can open the door for students to the most prestigious universities in the USA and other countries around the world. Most universities and colleges worldwide recognize the results of the SAT test.
Who Should Take the SAT?
The PSAT to all of its students from 9th grade to 11th grade. Typically, students at the end of the eleventh grade and the beginning of the twelfth grade take the SAT. We recommend beginning preparation for the SAT in the tenth grade. If you have any questions regarding the SAT or PSAT please contact Ms. Stephanie Tarnowski, our SAT coordinator, at istame@tin.it
What does the Test consist of?
The SAT Program consists of:
SAT I: Reasoning Test and the SAT II: Subject Tests.
1. SAT I: Reasoning Test:
The SAT measures the verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities that are important to college success. The score scale range is from 200 to 800. The SAT I is 4 hours primarily multiple choice.
2. SAT II: Subject Tests:
The Subject Tests measure students' knowledge and skills in a particular subject and their ability to apply that knowledge (no student may take more than three tests on any date).
How Do I Register for the SAT?
First, go to www.collegeboard.com
Click on SAT registration and scores.
Click on Register Now or Sign Up now.
The web site will guide you through the registration process.

You must have a credit card.
Any eligible student may also take the SAT test.
